How to show P.R.I.D.E. on the handball courts.
Who gets to play?
- Everyone gets to play.
- Show integrity by welcoming others who may not normally
play.
Where may handball be played?
- Only on the handball courts- no longer allowed against any
of the building walls.
- Practice Court is only for learners and easier play.
- Students must be in line behind the white line.
When may handball be played?
Why have the rules changed?
- Everyone needs to be included.
- Everyone plays by the same rules, is safe and has fun!
What are the rules?
- 4 players only; two sets of partners only. If one partner is
out, both partners are out.
- Players must “partner up” with the next person in line or go
to the end of the line with a preferred friend. No cuts. No separate lines for
partners.
- The balls must be served from the middle line.
- One bounce for “set-ups,” and one bounce before the ball
hits the wall.
- One bounce after the ball hits the wall, even for baby
bounces etc.
- Ball may not be stopped and then hit.
- “Bodies” are do-overs and “pops” are out.
- A ball on the line is out.
- No “animals,” “black magics,” “watermelons,” “pink elephants,”
etc.
